The Rosarians Network

Our good friends Clair Martin and Jeff Cameron have put together a wonderful site and E-Journal that covers the entire rose world.  In their own words.

"The Rosarians Network is the global clearinghouse for all who love roses. We provide unique, up-to-date horticultural articles, high-resolution images, member letters, and links addressing the needs of rosarians at all levels in our mutual quest for informed care and maintenance of our gardens. We welcome and encourage interaction between those who share a love for the rose and seek regular input of serious information about its husbandry."

Old Garden Roses and Beyond
by Paul Barden

Paul Barden has put together a simply stunning website of photos, rose information and articles about roses.  It's an invaluable resource of rose knowledge.  In Paul's own words.

"This website is dedicated to the appreciation of the Old Garden Roses of the 19th century and before. Also discussed are some of the best modern roses of the 20th (and 21st) century, including the English Roses and Miniature Roses. I am actively involved in breeding new roses in the Old Garden Rose style, and you will find photos and descriptions of some of the best of these included."

Rosegathering

I first met Daphne Filiberti in Los Angles in the mid-nineties.  She was just getting into the old roses and my rose care company worked with her.  It soon became apparent her knowledge was growing by leaps and bounds and she is now easily one of our leading experts on the old roses.  Daphne loves to travel and shares her rose travels on a lovely website

The Old Rosarian

A lovely website put together by a Canadian rose grower and lover of Old Garden Roses.  Great Photography.  In their own words

"I have grown roses for over forty years and now have a large collection of over 700 roses and I would like to share my love of them with you. Here I hope to create a place of visual beauty as well as introducing you to many of the older roses. But you will also find some modern ones which I have carefully chosen to blend with the old ones. Perhaps I may even inspire you to try a few in your garden. But be warned, roses are addictive!"

Susan's Roses, Gardens & More

A site of simply stunning photos taken by Susan Serra, who has contributed photos to this website as well.    I guarantee you will get lost for hours amongst them.  Plus your list of rose "wants" will quicky grow!

The Heritage Roses Group, formed in 1975, is a fellowship of those who care about Old Garden Roses, Species Roses, Old or Unusual Roses – particularly those roses introduced into commerce prior to the year 1867. Its purposes are to preserve, enjoy, and share knowledge about the Old Roses.

The Heritage Roses Group of the United States inspired the establishment of similar groups in Australia, England, New Zealand, and France.

In the USA, members are located across the country, in five different Regional Groups: SouthWest (includes all of California), NorthWest, SouthCentral, NorthCentral, NorthEast, and SouthEast — with a Regional Coordinator for each area.

Activities, Programs & Newsletter

Heritage Roses Members receive a quarterly national newsletter, “The Rose Letter,” mailed in February, May, August, and November. Articles, written by members and others on cover a wide variety of rose-related subjects. Regular features include book reviews, growing tips, plant exchanges, and a calendar of events.

Where sufficient members exist, local HRG chapters have been formed. These chapters work together to educate members and the public, to share information and research, and to promote, and participate in, a range of preservation efforts. In Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties, the local chapter is Gold Coast Heritage Roses Group -- offering a Quarterly Publication and a Members-Only Internet Chat Group
